TOYO TIRE & RUBBER CO.,LTD.(President and CEO: Kenji Nakakura) announces that it provides off-road tire support for a team entered in Dakar 2010, the official name for which is Argentina Chile-Dakar 2010, held from January 2nd, 2010 (Sat) to 16th (Sat).
The team which will be supported is "Team Hummer" with three drivers of Robby Gordon, Ron Bailey, and Carlo De Gavardo provided with TOYO TIRES' Open Country M/T-R which is specially tuned for the Dakar.

In the Dakar 2009 held in January this year, the "Team Dakar USA" with Robby Gordon as a driver led many of fast competitors and finished in the 3rd for the Overall, and achieved an honorable win for the Open Class.
He also won the 2009 SCORE Overall Point Championship in U.S. with which further better results can be expected.
The total distance of the Dakar 2010 is 9,000 km (5,592 mile) divided into 14 stages, starting from Buenos Aires, Argentina, through Chile then back to Buenos Aires to finish the race.
Carlo De Gavardo joining the team this time is known as a Chilean national hero must be high-spirited for the Chile's bicentennial anniversary, so his aggressive driving can be expected.
